Must be an A-Parent Thing

.

Who else would get excited about seeing this in the return address portion of a piece of US Mail?

Adoptive parents, that's who.....adoptive parents who are waiting on their federal fingerprint clearances. Again. Yup, we had to be refingerprinted. Apparently our first set expired. We, on the other hand, have not. ;-) You know, we are not "expired", dead, deep sixed.

Anyway, according to the US Government, fingerprints such as these for such purposes are only good for 15 months. And since this process has now been much longer than that, we had to get fingerprinted all over again. In this electronic day and age, you'd think the government could just rerun the first set to see if we've committed any awful crimes in the last year or so, but no. No can do. So, we are another $140 lighter, but we still are in good graces with the gov't as far as our adoption paperwork goes. Now if only those referrals would arrive in as speedy a manner as our fingerprint approvals did. (Thank you, Indy USCIS!)
